Bare fiction magazine is a relatively new player in the field, promoting poetry and fiction as well as plays. Launched at the end of 2013 on the back of a successful Kickstarter campaign it has been going strongly since. As a magazine they do accept submissions, so you can always submit work for publication even if you don’t enter the prize. They are certainly not afraid of the weird or dark as long as it is more literary than genre. The contest has three categories: flash fiction, short fiction and poetry. This is an international competition.
